Accuracy, context and proportionality
- We seek evidence strong enough for the claim being made and distinguish fact, analysis and informed interpretation.
- We preserve material caveats and avoid presenting contextual signals as proof about an individual school, trust or system.
- We explain cohort size and operational significance without implying precision the evidence cannot support.
- Where credible evidence conflicts, we represent the uncertainty rather than force a false conclusion.
Editorial control
The intelligence system may identify, connect and prioritise a development. It cannot decide that the development is ready for publication.
A human editor remains responsible for investigation, framing, headline, evidence boundaries and the decision to publish, update or withdraw an item.
Independence and commercial separation
- No organisation can pay to improve its editorial ranking or evidence status.
- Advertising or sponsorship, if introduced, will be visibly distinguished from independent editorial coverage.
- School Connection does not expose private supplier-fit, contact, opportunity-value or sales-targeting intelligence.
- Relevant material interests or conflicts will be disclosed where they could reasonably affect a reader’s assessment.
Use of automated tools and AI
Automated systems may assist with monitoring, deduplication, evidence connection, transcription, search or production checks. They are tools in the workflow, not the accountable publisher.
We do not treat machine output as evidence in its own right. A human editor is accountable for every published claim and for maintaining the distinction between observed evidence and interpretation.
Photography, illustration and data visuals
- Documentary photography must be authentic, appropriately sourced and captioned, and must not be materially altered in a way that changes its editorial meaning.
- Commissioned or AI-assisted illustration may be used as clearly identifiable editorial artwork. It will not be presented as a photograph of a real school, person, event or item of evidence.
- Illustrative artwork must not invent readable documents, statistics, quotations or other factual claims. Charts, maps and evidence graphics must remain traceable to their stated source and method.
- Images are selected for editorial purpose rather than decoration. Alternative text describes meaningful visual content, while purely decorative treatment is kept out of the reading order.
Attribution, updates and corrections
We attribute significant external evidence wherever publication, licensing and source-protection considerations allow. Published briefings may remain under monitoring and can be updated when evidence or operational implications materially change.
